About Us:

The Future with Coln Valley

Coln Valley Shorthorns began in 1999 with foundation females mainly from the Tofts herd in the Scottish Borders. Additional foundation females from some excellent Chapelton and Uppermill families were purchased privately in 2001. During this time we have developed a herd of consistent conformation and quality from these families and mainly three stock bulls. Chapelton Fulcrum followed by Perth Champion Uppermill Ling left us with some superb heifers. Coln Valley Titanic followed and added width and depth. Tamhorn Zip has just joined the herd and is expected to contribute significantly.

Our farm, Pindrup Moor, consists of 245 acres of rolling hills and valley on the south slopes of the Coln Valley in the heart of the Cotswolds.  Typical of the area we have a mixture of soils but mainly decent stock rearing ground.  We are normally able to outwinter our Spring calving cows.

Coln ValleyWith the benefit of significant Countryside Stewardship and Woodland Grant schemes and a lot of work we have greatly enhanced the environment of what had been a fairly derelict farm when we acquired it.

We are located on the A429 about 6 miles north of Cirencester, just south of the village of Fossebridge.
